Compare health insurance premiums
With Nexin, you can quickly find out how much you can save on health insurance in 2025. Our calculator shows you the most affordable offers in your region and helps you compare the best models. This way, you can lower your premiums this year.
Simply select your desired deductible, accident coverage (if you are not insured through your employer), and the current insurance model. Nexin’s premium calculator will then show you the best health insurance offers. You can directly request a non-binding quote.
Compare insurance models
With Nexin’s premium calculator, you can easily calculate your potential savings. In addition to the standard model, you can also compare other insurance models such as HMO, family doctor, or Telmed. The calculation is based on the latest data from the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and your personal details.
Adjusting your deductible
Adjust your deductible to further reduce your health insurance premiums. The Nexin premium calculator shows you how a higher or lower deductible affects your monthly costs. The higher the deductible, the lower your monthly premium — but your out-of-pocket costs for doctor’s visits or medications will be higher.
Frequently Asked Questions
Here you’ll find answers to questions you may have for us.
Is health insurance mandatory in Switzerland?
When can I cancel my health insurance?
Cancellation of basic health insurance is only possible within certain deadlines:
For cancellation effective December 31, 2025, the cancellation letter must be received by the health insurance provider no later than November 30, 2025 by registered mail.
For cancellation effective June 30, 2025, the cancellation letter must be submitted no later than March 31, 2025 — however, this option is only available to policyholders with the standard model and a deductible of CHF 300. In all other cases, switching is only possible at the end of the year.
What does my health insurance cover abroad?
Basic health insurance only covers medically necessary emergency treatments abroad — and only in EU and EFTA countries. For stays outside of Europe, coverage is very limited. It is strongly recommended to take out a supplementary insurance for stays abroad to avoid gaps in coverage.
When can I adjust my deductible?
An increase of the deductible is possible at any time until December 31 of the current year.
A reduction of the deductible must be requested in writing from the health insurance provider no later than November 30. Changes take effect on January 1 of the following year.
What services does my health insurance cover?
The benefits of basic health insurance are clearly defined in the Federal Health Insurance Act (KVG). These include medically necessary treatments, medications, and hospital stays in the general ward. The supplementary insurance covers additional benefits such as private hospitals, alternative treatments, dental care, and more — depending on the chosen provider and contract.
Why is it worth comparing health insurance providers?
The statutory benefits are the same with all insurers — but premiums vary greatly depending on your place of residence and insurance model. Regularly comparing health insurance providers can help you save several hundred francs per year — without sacrificing any benefits.
